Seattle!

Well we survived our first family vacation with the babies. We flew out Thursday night and got home Monday night. The kids did awesome on the flight. Not a peep out of the babies and Dax was just loving every minute of it, asking about a million questions about the plane and everything he saw out the windows. On the way there I held Gavin, Aaron held Jacee and Nicole held Jaxon, but on the way home the flight wasn't very full so they let us take their car seats on the flight. That was much more comfortable. And man, we thought we got a lot of stares in Utah, that's nothing compared to what we got in Washington! The funniest was when we walked out of the jet way in Seattle. We had just gate checked the car seats and stroller so that right when we got off the plane we could load up the babies, so we come cruisin out of the jet way and the the gate was full of people waiting to board the plane and you would have thought we were someone really famous. People starting clapping, whistling and cheering, "Way to go!" It was hilarious. We dang near got a standing ovation!!! And then everywhere we went people had to stop us and shake our hands, one group of people even asked if they could take a picture. And one guy stopped Aaron and said whatever you did that night, don't do it again! =)We even got a polygamist comment when Nicole was with us. Too Funny! Aaron says we need to hook up a donation jar to the stroller. Good times!

Well anyways, my cousin Suzie and her husband were nice enough to let us stay with them and borrow their truck, so thanks again! We had so much fun. Derek even got to tag along with us the whole time. Friday we went to the waterfront and had fish & chips and went to Pike Street. (I of course left my camera at their house, so no pics) Then on Saturday we went to The Museum of Flight. That was pretty cool, they had lots of old planes and lots of stories about them. They also had an old Air Force One that we got to go through. It was used by John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon to name a few. It was so neat, I can only imagine what the current one has in it! And then on Sunday since I'm a Twilightaholic I just had to go to Forks. (don't worry it's still 4 hours away from Seattle!) And yes we drug the kids, husbands and even Derek along. I do have to say that was the prettiest drive I have ever been on! And we stopped at a cool drive through zoo on the way. The kids loved that. They got to feed the animals some bread out the windows. There were yaks, zebras, buffalo, elk, and dear that would just walk right up to the car and stick their head in the window. They also had lots of bears that were just behind a tiny fence that you could drive right next too. They were funny, some were really lazy. If you threw the bread and it didn't land within reaching distance they wouldn't get it. And there were a couple that would do tricks for bread. One would wave at you, and another one would smile. It was awesome! But back to the drive, so pretty! We got to go over a couple neat bridges and go past a Naval base and of course there are trees everywhere. My favorite was when we were almost to Forks, we went past Lake Crescent. It was the prettiest setting I have ever seen. I would love to live there! Forks on the other hand is exactly how the book describes. Not much there. And since we were there on a Sunday, not much was open. The Chamber of Commerce does Twilight tours but they were booked out until December so we thought we'd just do our own. We had a fun time imaging Edward driving through the winding roads and running through the thick trees, and we just picked out houses that we thought could be the Cullen's and Jacobs. (yes, I know I'm a nerd!) The local hardware store had some hand drawn maps, but it really didn't give much information so we just went to the Fork's hospital and Bella's house. The map didn't tell you where anything else really was. There were signs everywhere about Edward and Bella. One hotel had a big sign that said come stay in Bella's suite, and some windows had Edward heart Bella signs in them. They are thriving of this! One hotel probably wasn't so happy with the new fame so it had a sign that said Edward DIDN'T stay here. Funny. So then we headed to La Push. Wow, that made the whole trip worth it. The coast line there was gorgeous! I've never been to the coast before (besides the gulf coast in Florida). Even Derek said that view made the trip worth it. The town of La Push isn't anything special, but that coastline, DANG!

So all in all we had a fantastic trip. Washington is one of my favorite places ever. And thanks again Toby & Suzie! We had a blast!!!

Oh and right before we left I took the babies to the doctor for a check up and Jaxon weighed 14 lbs 5 oz, Gavin weighed 13 lbs 10 oz, and my chunky monkey Jacee weighed 15 lbs 13 oz. She was actually on the charts for her actual age (only in the 5%) but to be on the charts is amazing! And Jaxon has been going pretty crossed eye lately so I took him back to the eye doctor and now he has to wear a patch over his right eye for 2 hours a day and he has to wear glasses now. I went and filled the prescription before we left so I should get his glasses in a week or two. And Gavin has been doing AWESOME with eating on his own. I didn't have to use his tube for a week and a half, but then he got an earache and wouldn't eat very well so I had to use it, but we're only having to use it once at night now, so hopefully we can get back off it now that he feels better! And Jacee is sitting up on her own really well, the boys are getting there. And Jacee is almost crawling, she can get up on her hands and knees and move her legs but she can't quite figure out how to move her hands. So she still army crawls wherever she wants to go. Jaxon can army crawl pretty good to and is starting to get up on his hands and knees. And Gavin is just content to have people hold him and take him wherever he wants to go! ;)

Well here's a few slide shows. I had a lot of pictures!
Here's a slideshow with pics from home, the airplane, and the Museum of Flight...

Brooke, you are such a great story teller! I am so glad that the trip went well. Cheyenne wasn't near that exciting! I can't wait to see the cute new glasses! Give the kiddos hugs for me! See you soon.

That sounds like an awesome trip. Les says he wants to live in Washington even though neither one of us has ever been there. I too am a twilightaholic and would have loved that drive to Forks and La Push, I'm very jealous!! I'm impressed with your courage to take four little ones on a plane, that's something we've never done and ours would probably be tons easier!! Your kids are so cute, I hope I run into you soon so I can see them in person!!

Wow! Looks like a fun trip. It's always nice to get away for a few days. We were able to go to Washington last summer when Jeff had to go there for work. It really is pretty and green up there.
