Our Family: Tubes...

Well back in December at the babies Neonatal Followup appointment Gavin and Jacee didn't pass their hearing tests. The audiologist said it was because they had fluid in their ears. So they put them on an antibiotic to see if that would clear it up. It didn't, so they decided to wait a few months to see if it would just clear up on its own, it didn't. So today both went in for tubes. Jaxon now has fluid in his ears too, but his hasn't been documented as long as the other two's so the doctor wants to give him a chance to clear it up on his own. So we shall see...

Poor little Gavin has just had way too many hospital visits and so the second we got in the elevator at Primary's he opened his eyes so big and just started crying. The only place we have gotten in an elevator is a hospital and nothing good ever happens to him there. And the poor kid hasn't forgotten. So before his turn they gave him a sedative to call him down, and man he LOVED that! It was hilarious how he was acting.

Jacee went first and of course did fabulous. No trauma before and woke up pretty happy.

Gavin had a harder time waking up because of the sedative so he just cried and cried. I couldn't calm him down. So while he was screaming a musical therapist happen to come by (and I happen to know her, she was my sister Amber's good friend growing up and was in our ward when we were younger). She pulled out her guitar and started singing and Gav just laid his head right down on my shoulder and settled right down. It was amazing! He loved it. He was able to come right of his oxygen which he had to be on because he was crying so bad. I'm a firm believer in musical therapy now! Oh and the ENT checked his vocal cord while he was in there and his vocal cord now seems to be MOVING! YAY!!! No more vocal cord paralysis for Gav. I guess just Jaxon will be my little rock star.
