It's that time of year again! March for Babies! I really look forward to the walk. Get to re-unite with old friends from the hospital and just to know that the money we raise goes to something that I strongly support.
The past 2 years I have walked with the NICU team but this year I decided I wanted to get more involved, so I started my own family team. I also joined the Family Team Committee for the Salt Lake March. We help get more people to sign up for the walk and to start their own teams. We held a couple of rallies to help the families get excited for the walk and to come up with fundraiser ideas. I am loving being able to help! I am also on the committee for the Weber/Davis walk. It's not as big as the Salt Lake walk but I'm super excited to help at this one and then I can walk at the Salt Lake walk. :)
So this year besides donations I'm asking you to join my team! The walk is on Saturday May 15th at 10 AM. It's at This Is The Place Heritage Park. So besides getting to do the walk, the park will be open too, so you can make a day out of it! And the zoo is right across the street so you can hit there too! :) So if you want something SUPER fun to do with your family come join my team, whether you know me that well or not! It's a great cause and a fun day!
In case you forgot ;) here's why I walk....My triplets were born at 24 weeks gestation. Being born that early gave them a 39% chance of survival and those that survived had a 50% chance of having severe complications. We beat the odds in both cases! Some of things that saved them were funded by March of Dimes. Things like surfactant for their lungs, Nitric Gas-Gavin needed that, and even the trauma level of the NICU. Those are just a few of the things they have funded the research for. So we have PERSONALLY benefited from March of Dimes. I can actually say that I know where the money goes! Their sole purpose is that one day all babies will be born healthy. I would love for people to experience the happy ending that we did, or better yet, not to have them experience it AT ALL!
