Dax's Soccer Camps

We signed D up for a couple of soccer camps this summer to try and keep him entertained :) and to work on his skills.

The first one was an AYSO sponsored camp and it was during the middle of June. All the coaches were from England so it was so fun to listen to them talk. Every time they missed the goal his coach would yell, Unlucky! Instead of saying they missed it. Funny! Dax's coach kept telling me that Dax reminded him of him when he was younger and then he would say, Don't worry I grew out of it! Hmmm, don't know if that's a compliment. ;) But I'm WELL AWARE that Dax is full of it, trust me!!!

The next one was during the middle of July. This one was sponsored by Challenger Sports and the coaches were all from England again. Either Dax was a little better behaved or the coaches weren't so "honest". :) They wrote me a letter for the last day saying how well Dax did and that he was nice to all his teammates and they also wrote that Dax was advanced for his age and that he should probably play with kids older than him that are more on his level. He loves soccer so much, probably because that's what Aaron plays so that's what they always play together. :)

First day of school!

I can't believe Dax is in Kindergarten now! Very bitterweet, so excited with how big he is getting, and so sad because I can't believe how big he is getting. He was not nervous for school at all. Probably because he had such a good experience with pre-school, so he was super excited. I was able to get him into a charter school near us. Our house is for sale, so in case we are able to sell it Dax won't have to change schools, there are no boundaries with charter schools. It was so easy buying him school clothes seeing how he has to wear a uniform, boring, but easy. :)

Getting ready to go in.

All ready for class!

Kyle & Cassie visit

My cousins Kyle and Cassie were able to come visit our family for a few days. They live back east so we only see them every couple of years so it was very nice to get to spend some time with them. Kyle just moved to Denver so maybe we'll be able to see him more often (hint, hint) We did lots of family dinners and lucky for them it was the Weber County Fair so we for sure had to take them to that and the grand finale, the demolition derby! Aaron's cousin was driving a car in it and Aaron was in his pit crew so of course we had to go. We go every year, they're actually pretty fun. Kyle and Cassie were up for anything, so off we went!

Just got to the fair, ready for some fun!

Doesn't Kyle look thrilled to be looking at goats :)

ZOO!

Since Aaron had Labor Day off work we decided to go to the zoo. ( along with the entire state of Utah I'm pretty sure) I've been able to take the kids to the zoom a few times but we always go when Aaron is working, so it was nice to be able to go as a family.

Aaron really was having a good time, I promise :)

Jaxon by the elephants, he also was having a good time. Like father like son.

Dax has always been terrified of this elephant for some reason, but this time he said he wasn't scared anymore :)

Yuba 2009

Last year Aaron's family started the tradition of going camping at Yuba Lake. Well with all of our "fun" adventures with camping this year we have boycotted camping, so we decided to just go down and spend Saturday with everyone.

This year was SO much better than last year. Last year it was so windy and so sand was everywhere, but this year we only had one little burst of wind and that was it. It was perfect this year!

Dax and Jacee were the only ones of our kids that dared get in the water. Gavin was glued to my hip as usual and Jaxon LOVED the sand. He was covered in it at all times, but he was having so much fun, so I just let him. The Big boys played football in the shallow part of the water, and that's always fun to watch. There was also the slide and platform again this year.

As it got closer to night Ashley somehow talked us into staying and just sleeping in our van. And ya know what, it really wasn't that bad. Besides the drunk people going down the slide naked and us having to call the police, of course. ;)

Cruefest 2!

Aaron's favorite band is Godsmack, so when I heard they were coming to town to USANA amphitheater, I surprised him and bought tickets for us to go. They were coming as part of Cruefest 2, which is put on by Motley Crue. It was SO fun, and the best "people watching" place ever! It started with Theory of a Dead Man performing, which was awesome, I love them! And then Aaron's beloved Godsmack, who of course was awesome as usual. This was our third or fourth time seeing them. Then it finished off with Motley Crue. I really wasn't as excited for them as I was for the other two bands, but once they got going I got totally excited. They played songs from the original Doctor Feel Good album. It was so fun!!! Spencer watched the little ones for us, with the promise that I would call when Motley Crue sang Doctor Feel Good and Girls Girls Girls, and I kept my end of the bargain. :) And I, of course, left my camera in the car and wasn't about to hike all the way back to the car so the pics are from my phone which doesn't have a zoom so they're not the best, but oh well!
