Rocky start...

So far 2009 has not been kind! A week ago the babies some how got a stomach flu bug. I have no idea where they got it because they have not left the house, and no one we know had been sick. So on New Years Eve we just decided to stay home and have our own little family party, but don't you worry that me and Dax got sick! Dax got it in the morning and I got it that night, so I rang in the new year puking! Luckily for me and Dax it just lasted a day. Not the babies though. They are still throwing up. Jaxon and Jacee are much better, only throwing up maybe once a day, poor Gavin is still super sick though. I took them all to the doctor on Friday and the doctor checked them all and said to watch for fevers and dehydration, which luckily they hadn't really shown signs of. He also said to switch to a lactose free formula until they stop throwing up and the diarrhea goes away. I guess lactose can make an upset stomach worse. So we did that and that may have been what helped Jaxon and Jacee feel a bit better but it didn't seem to do much for Gav. So we've been hooking him up to his feeding tube (that we haven't had to use in over a month!) and just running his formula through real slow, but he was still throwing up! So last night I'd had enough, I could tell he'd lost weight-and he doesn't have any to lose, he was pretty lethargic and super whiny, so at 10 PM last night Aaron took him down to Primary Children's ER. They said we'd been doing all the right things, he actually wasn't too dehydrated, and they just wanted to run some tests and do some IV fluids. They said that sometimes just running a lot of fluid through the body can help push the virus out. His tests came back normal, it's just a virus that's going around and it has lasted up to 2 weeks on some kids! They said the same thing that our doc said, watch for dehydration and to change the formula to a lactose free one. I love when your doctors actually DO know what they're talking about! :)

But today he looks soooo much better, it's amazing how giving some extra fluids can help. And so far no throw up from anyone. Still some diarrhea (I'm sure everyone wanted to know that! ;) ), but hopefully everyone is finally getting better and our year can start looking better!

And family update- Jacee can now crawl up all the stairs, she does it all the time now and is so proud of herself. She also mouths mama-for some reason she won't say it, when I tell her to say it she mouths it-pretty funny. She now has her two bottom teeth. She really rules the house-and isn't very nice to her brothers and has also figured out how to throw little temper tantrums. What a princess!
Gavin is crawling all over the place-much better than the other two actually. Who'd a thunk it ;)! They still prefer to army crawl most of the time. He also has his two bottom teeth and was a BEAR while they were coming in.
Jaxon is still my happy, silly boy. He is definitely his fathers son! He is sooo busy and is always trying to figure out how things work. His wheezing has been pretty minimal lately, but his eyes are going crossed again-which the doctor said would probably happen so we'll see what happens with that.
Dax hated having to have a week off from school, and was ecstatic when he got to back today! He is still playing hockey and loving it! And he and Aaron are working very hard to master Lego Star Wars on the Wii.
Aaron has decided that after 11 years, he's going to go to college! He decided a bit late, so he'll be about a week behind in classes, but we're really excited that he's going, finally. He's going for the paramedic program at good 'ol Weber State. So good luck babe!
And I've decided that having triplets is HARD! :) Before it was just more time consuming, but now that they are all very mobile and go in three different directions, it's just plain ol tricky! ;) But I'm loving every minute of it!!! I do have to say that I look forward to my little outings out alone though-even if it's just to Walmart. Sometimes I just need my alone time. :) Keeps me sane.

So there's my ramblings for today!

I am sorry to hear the everyone was sick. No fun. Hopefully everyone will continue to get better.
Good luck to Aaron with school. That is a huge decision. Way to go.
Hopefully this year will turn out better than it started for your family.

That is such a bummer that everyone was sick! I hope Gavin starts feeling all the way better soon. Sorry we didn't get a chance to see you guys when we came up for Christmas. It was a little jam packed with stuff planned by my dear dad every day that I will sometime get around to posting on my blog. We were so exhauted by the time we came home. That's so neat about Aaron going back to school. Tell him good luck! Wish I lived closer so I could give you a sanity break everyone once in awhile. ;) You are amazing!

What a rough start for 2009! One sick baby is more than I can handle, I can't imagine what it's been like for you. I have the greatest of sympathies. You're amazing and make your life sound so easy going. You'll have to share your secret for sanity sometime with me. If you ever need a hand let me know.

WOW!!! That is a really rough start. I can't believe how big the triplets are. Dax is so cute. Well I hope everything goes better for you. I was going to ask you who Jaxon's eye doctor is? Is he at Primary's?
