Well the day finally came....Amber had her twins!!!
On Wednesday the 18th she had a doctors appt. and at the appt. they determined that she was starting to develop preeclampsia. So the doctor decided that she should be started before the preeclampsia got worse.
So I got a phone call from my mom just before 5 PM saying that they were starting her, wahoo! So after Aaron got home we ate and I headed up to the hospital. I figured she would probably have them in the wee hours of the morning, maybe like 1 or 2 AM and I was not going to miss it! Well 1 and 2 came and went, Amber was just taking her sweet time! ;) Her blood pressure was pretty high so they had us all wait in the waiting room so she could try to sleep a bit and lower her BP. At 3 AM we (Me, mom, dad, Derek, Kalee, Nicole, Brian's mom Joan and Bill) decided to start taking bets on what time these babies would make their grand entrance. I said 4:48 AM. That also came and went. We all figured that we had stayed this long we might as well stay until Amber had these babies!
Finally, at a little after 9 AM she was finally ready to have these babies! They took her to the OR just in case they needed to do a c-section (they didn't! ) And a little before noon she finally had the babies! 20 hours of labor, yikes!
Both were 5 lbs 7 oz and 20 inches long. Crazy that they were exactly the same! Baby boy had some problems and needed to get put on a ventilator and stay in the NICU, they also put a cool cap on him to help the brain heal from the lack of oxygen. I won't go into too much detail, I'll let Amber share the experience. But he is doing GREAT now, still in the NICU but they say he is doing great and making great progress. Hopefully he'll get to come home in the next few days! Baby girl did great, and is doing great. She got to come home with Amber. :)
They named baby boy Austin Bingham Hansen and baby girl is Brighton Leah Hansen. They are SOOOO cute!
Here are some pics from the whole experience.
Amber and Brian just chillin. ;)
Us just chillin in the waiting room and watching the Olympics

We are so nice to take a pic of Amber during a contraction- her epidural had started to wear off :(
Joan and my mom "patiently" waiting outside of the OR-they were a nervous wreck!

I haven't got to meet Austin yet, but Brian took my camera in the NICU and took some pics. But as of now, he no longer has all that "gear". Only hooked up to a monitor now!
More pics of them to come! Once Austin comes home.

No way! I didn't know your sister was having twins! How fun for your family! They are beautiful babies. I need to talk to you! It's been way too long....
I can't believe that you guys have the triplets and now your sister had twins. That is way to crazy. Lots of babies for your family:) That is so much fun. We will have to get the kids together for sure once it warms up. Did Aaron have fun playing soccer last night with Darin and Ben? They have way to much fun:)
