March for Babies

On April 26, I'm going to be doing a March for Babies walk. The March for Babies is a fundraiser put on by The March of Dimes to help improve the health of babies. The March of Dimes mission is to celebrate babies who are born healthy and to raise funds for babies who need help to survive and thrive. Over the past 70 years the March of Dimes has helped save millions of babies from dealth and disabilty thanks to advances made by March of Dimes-funded scientists. This is a great cause and I have experienced first hand how much they do. Even just the support of the rep at the hospital is amazing and has been a great comfort for us. I'm asking for you to sponsor me if you can. Just go to http://www.marchforbabies.org/Neilson_Family (that's an underscore between Neilson and Family) and donate if you can. I've set a personal goal, but if we can go above that, that would be great! Thanks!

Well, we are surviving having two babies home. Ready to move up to three. The first couple days were pretty hard and exhausting, but we're getting the hang of it now. I've even figured out how to feed them both at the exact same time and can even hold and burp one with the same hand while I feed the other one. Pillow's also work great to prop up the bottle if I need to. And Gavin is still struggling a bit with his feedings. He was doing so well and then he kinda just pooped out. His oxygen requirements have gone down a lot. He's actually been off it quite a few times, and when he has to go back on, it's at very low amounts. So if everyone can pray for him to get the hang of eating that would be great! He also is getting very bored. He's a full term baby now and knows that he should be held and talked to all the time. The nurses do the best they can, but they have other babies to care for too. So we bought a cute little mobile and he loves it! Gives him something a little more interesting to look at and it plays songs that really help calm him down. He's getting so big, he's now 8 lb 14 oz!!! He won't fit in half the clothes I bought him by the time he comes home! =) I take the other two in for a weight check tomorrow, so we'll see how big they are getting, I'm sure not anywhere close to Gavin!
