Yep, hospital visit, round 2!!! After being home from the hospital for a whole week and a half Jaxon and Gavin decided they missed it or something (HA!!!) and decided to check themselves back in!!!!
Once again Jacee got sick first, fever and runny nose, but unlike her brothers she knows how to GET BETTER on her own! Then Jaxon followed, then Gavin. Exact same as last time. I actually had the boys in for their follow-up from the previous hospital stay when the doctor noticed Jaxon had a fever, but I just said that Jacee had had one too and she was already getting better so I didn't think it was anything to worry about. HA! This was Wed., February 25. So the doctor followed up by calling everyday (Thanks again Amanda for the referral!) and I just kept telling him that I was sure they were fine and they didn't need to come in. If I didn't need a herd of people to help me get to the doctor I probably would have taken them in, but sometimes it's just too hard-horrible to say I know. Anyways by now it was Monday, March 2nd and the boys still didn't seem too sick-no wheezing or anything, still just yucky noses and sporadic fevers. So again the doctor called and again I said they were not that bad. But by Monday night Gav's lips were turning a shade of blue-NOT GOOD! So we decided to take both the boys to Primary's ER once again. But I was so confused, can they really have RSV again??? What was going on now??? Luckily the ER was pretty slow and they got us right back and hooked the boys up to the oximeters and don't you worry that Jaxon's numbers were in the 60's and Gav's was in the 30's!!! (Remember that you want to be 100) The nurses said they didn't really believe their numbers because they would have been a lot more blue! Needless to say we got admitted again. The RSV test came back negative, this round they had Human Metapneumovirus. It's in the same family as RSV, just a "newer" strain of it they say. It basically has all the same symptoms, but the docs said this one is more aggressive, OH GREAT!
At least this time the hospital wasn't as full as our last visit so we got to be in a very nice room (together, thank goodness) on the infant medical unit-right where they are supposed to be. They did pretty good this round. Jaxon did start to crap out on day 3 again, that night the docs told him he had 3 hours to shape up or he was going to go back to PICU! Luckily we had an AWESOME nurse that night and she was bound and determined for that NOT to happen. She suctioned him like crazy and gave him a "Super Neb" treatment and it worked!! He started doing a little better, good enough to stay in the infant unit.
This time, I just stayed up the whole time with them. We decided that Aaron probably should go to work and get a paycheck so we can pay all these lovely medical bills. :) So Dax, Jacee and Aaron just stayed at my mom and dads and then he would just get up and go to work. One night he did stay up at the hospital so I could come and get some real sleep and I just got up early and went back up to the hospital early so he could get to work. Good times! Aaron would bring Dax with him to visit every night and so I got to see them, but I went a whole week without seeing Jacee, it was horrible. The one night I got to go home-she was already asleep when I got there and then she was still sleeping when I had to leave. :(
So my boys got admitted on Monday March 2nd and got discharged Sunday March 8th. They both have to have oxygen at night, but that's fine with us! This visit was a little less time for Jaxon, a little longer for Gav. I really hope there are NO more strains of RSV-I didn't dare ask-too afraid to jinx us! I'm quite sick of hospitals, and I know Jax and Gav are for sure! And I had just barely weened the boys off of the need to be held all the time and now we had to start all over!
Here's some pics of round 2 at Primary's. They're off my phone so sorry if the clarity is bad.
Poor Gav. Not excited to be back.

While we were there, KSL did a radiothon for Primary's, so all the kids got these cute moose's. Gav LOVED his-he used it as a pillow.

Jax with his moose-and taggie & thumb of course!

Our luxurious suite!

Once they started feeling better I would push their cribs together so they could play. :)
